Assess & Protect

Before you touch a spill, you must identify it (check the SDS) and put on appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Select standard PPE for a hazardous chemical spill:

If you absorb the middle of a spill first, it will keep spreading! Follow the correct order of operations.

Assess Risk & ID

Identify the spilled liquid. Read the Safety Data Sheet (SDS). Assess risks to people, property, and the environment. If it's highly toxic or massive, evacuate and call emergency services.
